# Function: compactVerify

▸ **compactVerify**(`jws`, `key`, `options?`): `Promise`<[`CompactVerifyResult`](../interfaces/types.CompactVerifyResult.md)\>

Verifies the signature and format of and afterwards decodes the Compact JWS.
